Terms of Service
Effective October 21, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Steady Learners (“we”, “us”) for using the Steady Learners app and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. Who can use Steady Learners
Accounts are for parents and legal guardians aged 18 or older. You may add up to four children to your family and let them use the app under your supervision. You’re responsible for your account, for keeping your password and parent PIN private, and for what happens in your account.
2. What the Service is
Steady Learners offers short daily lessons in math, reading and spelling, read-along books, a Parent Portal to set routines, and acorns your child earns and spends on rewards you choose. It’s a learning aid, not a substitute for school or professional help, and we can’t promise particular results. We may add, change or remove features and content over time.
3. Free plan, subscriptions and purchases
- Your first 3 days. A new account can use everything for 3 days, with nothing to pay and no plan to choose.
- 7-day free trial. After those 3 days, you choose a plan to keep going; it starts with a 7-day free trial (one per account). Your payment details are taken by the App Store or Google Play when the trial starts, and you’re charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. We remind you 2 days before the trial ends and on its last day.
- All-Access ($3.99 a month or $39.99 a year) unlocks every lesson for up to four children. Without it, lessons are locked, and your children’s progress is kept. It’s bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play and renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings; access continues to the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Refunds within 7 days. You can ask for a refund in the app (Account → Manage subscription → Payment history → Request a refund) within 7 days of a payment. A refund also ends your subscription, and a new plan can be chosen again 7 days after it. On Android the refund is made straight away. On iPhone only Apple can refund App Store purchases: the app opens Apple’s refund request, we tell Apple we’d like it granted, and Apple makes the final decision (usually within 48 hours). The free trial is never charged, so cancelling it is enough.
- Payments, refunds and billing are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. Prices are shown before you buy, and may change; a change applies to your next renewal, after notice.
4. Promo codes, launch offers and referrals
- Each account can use one promo code, ever. Codes from our launch list work once, for one account. Codes have no cash value, can’t be sold, and may expire if stated.
- Free time from a code or a referral is All-Access for the stated period; it doesn’t renew by itself.
- The referral program (earning credits when friends subscribe) follows the Referral Terms shown in the app.
- We may cancel codes or credits obtained by fraud, automation or misuse.
5. Acorns and rewards
Acorns are a points system inside the app. They have no monetary value and can’t be exchanged for money. The real-world rewards are set up and given by you, the parent; we don’t provide them.
6. Using the Service properly
Please don’t misuse the Service: no copying or reselling it, no reverse-engineering, no interfering with its security or operation, no creating accounts in bulk or by automation, and no using it for anything unlawful.
7. Our content
The app, its lessons, the books and their characters (including Tuck and his friends), pictures, voices and design belong to Steady Learners or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable license to use them through the Service while your account is in good standing.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it, including how read-aloud listening works on the phone.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using the Service and delete your data at any time (Parent Portal → Account → “Reset app & delete all data”, or by emailing us). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Cancelling a subscription is done in your App Store or Google Play settings.
10. Disclaimers and limits
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t give warranties beyond those stated here, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can’t be limited by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, unless the law where you live gives you a different right.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Using the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
